III MEF HQ: Where PowerPoint Meets the Pacific

Camp Courtney is III MEF headquarters on Okinawa, which means this is where field Marines become staff officers and PowerPoint Rangers earn their tabs in the most beautiful setting the Corps has to offer for administrative suffering. The phrase 'death by PowerPoint' was invented here, perfected here, and will be your cause of death here. You'll attend briefs about briefs, pre-briefs for the pre-brief, and syncs about the sync that preps you for the brief. The most dangerous weapon on this installation is a CC line on an email to a general officer. Uruma City outside the gate has legit Okinawan eats — taco rice, soba, and izakayas that will make you forget you spent eight hours reformatting slides about readiness metrics nobody reads. The east coast beaches are solid and blissfully less crowded than the tourist-packed west side. The base has that mid-size installation energy where everyone knows your business, your boss's business, and what you said at the E-Club last Friday. Senior SNCOs here carry coffee mugs like weapons and say 'tracking' so often it becomes a nervous tic. Semper Slides. Semper Syncs. Semper Staff Duty.
