Got a wild idea? We build for service members — not the brass, not shareholders. If it's good, it ships.

Wisconsin's Badger Battalion traces its military training heritage to 1868, when the War Department sent an officer to train the university's 347 students in Military Tactics and Engineering — the same year UW-Madison opened. The program expanded through every major American conflict, and since 9/11 has commissioned over 1,000 officers, many of whom served in OEF and OIF. Today the Badger Battalion partners with Edgewood College and the University of Wisconsin-Whitewater, drawing from one of the strongest public research universities in the Midwest. Wisconsin's engineering, computer science, and biology programs feed technically strong candidates into MI, Cyber, and Medical Service branches at above-average rates. The program competes in the 5th Brigade Midwest region where competition is serious; cadet PT standards are enforced rigorously. The Wisconsin Army National Guard's 32nd Infantry Brigade Combat Team — one of the most deployed Guard units in recent history — offers compelling in-state post-commissioning pathways for Guard-track cadets. Cadets at Madison operate in a politically diverse campus environment that can be challenging for ROTC recruiting but produces officers who are comfortable operating across cultural lines — a skill set that follows into career assignments.
